PA Brews for Ukraine Media Kit

A Sons of Alchemy homebrewed initiative to organize a statewide relief effort for Ukraine.

This media kit is designed to help you cover this statewide initiative, organized by Sons of Alchemy Homebrew Club for homebrewers and breweries throughout PA to brew and donate to the Ukraine relief efforts. The initiative will allow us to aggregate and track our contributions so Pennsylvania Homebrewers – and Craft Brewers – can see the fruits of their collaborative effort using the #PABrews4Ukraine hashtag.

The #PABrews4Ukraine Initiative

During the heat of the Russian invasion, Pravda Brewery in Lviv, Ukraine made a powerful statement with its social media post. They had halted their beer production to make Molotov Cocktails. This was immediately followed by their announcement of the Brew for Ukraine collaborative, which is where the Sons of Alchemy come in.

In this global collaboration, Pravda Brewery has asked craft brewers from around the world to unite in a show of solidarity and brew Pravda’s original recipes and encourage donations from the sales of those brews.

This left out homebrewers, who also want to join in this cause but don’t know how to. While we can’t donate profits from sales, we can still make individual donations and help raise awareness, encouraging donations from friends and family by posting your photos to social media with a link to the GoFundMe donation page and using the #PABrews4Ukraine hashtag.

Who benefits from this initiative?

We are encouraging donations to the Brew For Ukraine GoFundMe account, which was organized by Cory McGuinness, Former Head Brewer at Pravda Beer Theatre. We’re asking all PA brewers to use the #PABrews4Ukraine hashtag in their donation comments and social media posts to help us track them. There are also other vetted relief organizations to choose from on the brewforukraine.beer supported non-profits page.
