Sons, here are the notes from our last meeting on March 5th at Scotzin Bros. Please correct anything that is wrong and include anything that I may have missed.

      Upcoming events:

      – March 19th [Thurs] – Social meeting at Big Hill Ciderworks for dinner and drinks. They will tour us and may share some barrel and varietal samples.

      – April 2nd [Thurs] – Educational meeting at Scotzin Bros. Chris’ friend Mike will join us to chat about his nanobrewery that he is opening. Tim Sopcak had planned to overview the BJCP 2014 [Drafted revisions] and Mike Ross suggested that we watch the movie Sommelier as a group. We may be able to do all of these as my BJCP style educational should only take around 15-20 or so. SOMM is roughly 1.5 hrs.

      – April 19th – ??? Uncertain of location and plan but we may have beers ready for judging.

      – April 26th [Sun] – Battle of the Homebrew clubs – Homebrew fest at Federal Taphouse. Chris stated that we have 5 clubs involved and already maxed out having to turn people away. Great problem to have! Thanks Chris!

6 beers being served at the event:

      1. Mike Ross and Cale – Gose
      2. Brad and Scott – Double IPA
      3. Kristen and Brad – Coffee Stout
      4. Brian Keeney and Steve – Nelson Saison
      5. Jeff and Tim – Tropical [Mango] IPA possibly through Randall of mango or fruits
      6. Carlo and Matt – fruit sour

      Funds:
Roughly $942 as of this meeting

      Club news:

      – Jeff visited Thistle Thitch distillery and brewery in Lancaster recently and spoke with them. They are happy with having us sometime and we can bring beverages as long as it’s on the distillery side as opposed to the brewery side. He or someone will work on setting something up for the club as a social meeting.

      – Insurance – Brian Martin refunded $2 to a few members that had already paid as the overall cost was less than expected. He is seeking out an address to be used and it was decided that the address of Scotzin. Bros would be used for now. We may need to pursue a P.O. Box in the future which should not cost much.

      – Brad will purchase the club jockey box today or very soon. There is a stainless steel version that costs $150 more than the plastic version. The club took a vote and decided to purchase the SS version for roughly $633. This includes all hardware and depending on the surface texture, Steve may work on polishing the outside to mirror finish for total badassness.

      – We should have roughly $309 in club funds after this purchase.

      – A club shirt in either size small or medium will be donated to I believe Kurt from the Garlic Poet to be displayed on premise.
