Sons of Alchemy 2022 Grocery Store Challenge

Basic Rules
Members will brew a beer of their own chosen style, or an original style. All ingredients, with the exception of those listed below, must be obtained from a grocery store. No brewing salts (except Metabisulfites), yeast nutrients, acid additions, alkalinity additions, or fining agents may be used, unless obtained from a grocery store.

Exceptions
The following ingredients may be obtained elsewhere and used if desired:
– Water
– Campden Tablets (or straight K-Meta or Na-Meta) for chlorine/chloramine removal
– Oxygen
– CO2
– US-05 Yeast

If there are any questions or doubts about the rules for this challenge, ask.

Target dates to share beers will be the last meeting in February and the first meeting in March.

Yes, rice hulls are allowed. The logic is that they are a lautering aid (i.e. “equipment”) and not an ingredient that ends up in the beer.
